Our dogs are beloved family members who we have dedicated our life to raising and training. I enjoy seeing my dogs run free together on the farm, play in the sand at the beach, and sack out on the couch while we watch a movie.
We begin with evaluating the dog in front of us. Training goals must be adapted to each dog’s particular character and disposition. Our primary focus is to improve engagement. We find that marker training has the most profound effect on shaping behavior.
One must think like a dog to "speak" clearly to a dog. Its imperative that you understand your dog and your dog understands you! With 30 years of training dogs under our belt, we can help. We use simple methods based on the psychology of learning to ensure engagement under the many distractions of real world scenarios.
We are balanced trainers. We feel that new behaviors should be taught with patience, compassion, and reward, but we believe unwanted behavior is most effectively modified using minimally aversive training techniques. Balance in life is the key to success.
